Are we what we eat?

Our PhD and MD stu­dents, Hen­drik Hart­mann and Lara Pauli, want­ed to know how dietary fat and sug­ar alters our cen­tral dopamine sys­tem and cog­ni­tion. They inves­ti­gat­ed this asso­ci­a­tion in a healthy young human pop­u­la­tion, mak­ing use of a dietary dopamine deple­tion inter­ven­tion. The find­ings are pub­lished in Journal of Neu­roen­docrinol­o­gy.
