Big Questions in Neuroscience” Event

We are pleased to announce that our Lab’s Associate Professor Annette Horstmann will be presenting at the upcoming event titled “Big Questions in Neuroscience and Current Limits of Knowledge.” This engaging session will take place on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 15:15 to 16:15, followed by coffee/tea and discussion, at Lecture Hall 2, Haartmaninkatu 3, Meilahti.

Presentation Title: Brain vs. Food 0 — 1: Cognitive Aspects of Obesity

Hosted by Professor Iiris Hovatta, this event invites students, postdocs, group leaders, and anyone interested in neuroscience and science in general to explore key open research questions in neuroscience. Attendees will delve into current conceptual and methodological limitations and discuss the biggest hurdles for effective prevention and treatment of psychiatric and neurological diseases.

Professor Annette Horstmann, PhD, is an esteemed researcher at the Department of Psychology, University of Helsinki. She will present her work investigating the neurobiology of obesity, focusing on the cognitive processes and traits that influence eating behaviors and the development of obesity. In addition to her interdisciplinary approach that draws upon biology, psychology, neuro- and cognitive sciences, medicine, nutritional sciences, and mathematics.

Join us for this insightful presentation and engage with top neuroscientists as they discuss timely questions in the context of their research.

We look forward to welcoming you to an afternoon of stimulating discussions and knowledge sharing!
