We are excited to announce the publication of our latest research paper, “FinnFoodPics: A Database of Finnish Snack Foods for Investigating Modern Eating Behaviors,” now available in the journal Food Quality and Preferences. This open-access database is designed to support local researchers in studying contemporary eating habits with a focus on Finnish dietary preferences.

- Tailored to Finnish Dietary Preferences: FinnFoodPics is a modern, standardized, and validated food picture set specifically tailored to Finnish dietary preferences, providing researchers with culturally relevant tools for their studies.
- Dissociating Macronutrient Effects: The database allows researchers to dissociate macronutrient effects, offering a nuanced approach to understanding how different food components influence eating behaviors.
- Model for Region-Specific Tools: As a set tailored to a Nordic diet, FinnFoodPics serves as a model for creating region-specific tools, enhancing the potential for cross-cultural food research and fostering greater understanding of global dietary patterns.
This comprehensive database includes 72 snack food images presented in 10 portion sizes, making it an invaluable resource for investigating modern eating behaviors in Finland and beyond.
