It’s all about food — SSIB in Porto

From July 12th-16th mem­bers of the O’Brain Lab attend­ed the first on-site con­fer­ence of the Soci­ety for the Study of Inges­tive Behav­ior (SSIB) in 2019. Hen­drik pre­sent­ed his poster about the asso­ci­a­tion of fat and sug­ar con­sump­tion with mRNA expres­sion of dopamin­er­gic genes in the blood and cog­ni­tion. The event was full of fas­ci­nat­ing talks and we got the oppor­tu­ni­ty to enjoy the com­pa­ny of col­leagues, friends, and for­mer lab mem­bers out­side the dig­i­tal world of Zoom. We made many new con­tacts and dis­cussed nov­el ideas and avenues to explore in our research. All this in the beau­ti­ful city of Por­to, where the food is good and the drinks are cheap. What more can some­one ask for?
