We are thrilled to announce that OBRAIN LAB has published a pioneering research paper examining the effects of ultra-processed foods on brain structure. This study, now available in npj Metabolic Health and Disease, provides critical insights into how dietary habits may influence brain health.
The paper, titled “Ultra-processed food consumption affects structural integrity of feeding-related brain regions independent of and via adiposity” explores the impact of high consumption of ultra-processed foods on various aspects of brain architecture. Through advanced imaging and analytical techniques, the research highlights significant associations in feeding-related brain regions, potentially affecting food-related decisions. However, it is important to note that these results are correlational, and further research is needed to establish causation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our collaborators at the Montreal Neurological Institute at McGill University for their invaluable contributions to this study. Their expertise and support were instrumental in advancing our research.
