About

Lena is currently a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Leipzig and is writing their bachelor's thesis at the O'BRAIN Lab. Their research focuses on the complex interactions between stress, the reward system, and food choices.

Previously, Lena spent a year gaining valuable insights into neuroscientific research as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (MPI) in Leipzig. In the Department of Early Childhood Development, led by Michael Skeide, they were involved in conducting EEG and MRI studies. This experience gave them a deep understanding of the neurobiological foundations of human development.

In Lena's current work at the O'BRAIN Lab, they bridge the gap to behavioral psychology by investigating how subjective experience and psychological factors such as stress influence our daily decisions in the context of nutrition.
