We are delight­ed to announce that Elif Gülak has joined the OBRAIN lab as an Eras­mus intern. Elif is a 4th-year under­grad­u­ate stu­dent at Üskü­dar Uni­ver­si­ty, Fac­ul­ty of Human­i­ties and Social Sci­ences, Psy­chol­o­gy Depart­ment. Elif joins Arsene to assist with the MARVEL Project.

Elif holds a Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence in Psy­chol­o­gy and Nutri­tion and Dietet­ics. She has exten­sive expe­ri­ence as a Dietit­ian, coun­sel­ing clients with dis­or­dered eat­ing behav­iors using emo­tion­al and intu­itive eat­ing approach­es and psy­cho­log­i­cal tech­niques such as mind­ful­ness. She has also col­lab­o­rat­ed with psy­chol­o­gists and dieti­tians to devel­op inter­ven­tion strate­gies com­bin­ing nutri­tion­al ther­a­py and psy­cho­log­i­cal counseling.

The MARVEL Project aims to inves­ti­gate the effects of macronu­tri­ent com­bi­na­tions and food pro­cess­ing on food moti­va­tion, using food ques­tion­naires and behav­ioral tasks to under­stand the impact of mod­ern diets on eat­ing behav­ior across dif­fer­ent BMI ranges.

Elif’s exper­tise will be instru­men­tal in advanc­ing our under­stand­ing with­in the MARVEL Project.
