The opening of the new K.G. Jebsen Centre for Obesity Research (CORA) took place at Akershus University Hospital on 21 August 2026. As part of the centre, the O’BRAIN Lab was represented by Professor Annette Horstmann.

The event brought together senior representatives from Akershus University Hospital, the University of Oslo, and the Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Foundation, alongside the centre’s research teams and international collaborators. Centre Director Yvonne Böttcher (University of Oslo and Akershus University Hospital) and Deputy Director, Professor and Senior Consultant Jøran Hjelmesæth (University of Oslo and Vestfold Hospital), together with the research teams, will work alongside international experts from Leipzig, including Matthias Blüher, and Helsinki, including Annette Horstmann, over the next five years to advance obesity research and improve care for people living with obesity.
